At Camp For All, safety is a crucial core value. We have long maintained rigorous emergency plans, comprehensive staff training, and strong partnerships with local emergency services.

Camp For All prioritizes the safety of all campers, counselors, volunteers, staff, and visitors who enter our gates through planning and collaboration. Emergency preparedness is a year-round effort, involving both online and onsite training sessions for Camp for All staff and Partners conducted each spring, summer, and fall.

As a Texas-licensed youth camp provider, our facilities are annually reviewed to ensure they are safe, accessible, and well-prepared for any emergency. Our emergency protocols are updated annually and shared with local responders. These practices reflect our deep commitment to transparency and preparedness.

We are proud to be accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA), which requires compliance with more than 200 standards covering health and wellness, staff supervision, facilities, and emergency preparedness. This accreditation demonstrates our ongoing commitment to excellence and our dedication to providing a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment for every camper.

To maintain our accreditation with the ACA, we submit an Annual Accreditation Report (AAR) during non-visit years and undergo a full onsite accreditation visit every five years. In addition, we are licensed annually with an onsite inspection by the State of Texas under the Youth Camp Program. We also actively plan and prepare for potential emergencies in partnership with our nonprofit Partners and local first responders. To date, Camp For All has not experienced any major emergencies requiring Camp closure or evacuation.

Camp For All already meets the majority of the safety and emergency preparedness requirements outlined in Texas House Bill 1 (Youth CAMPER Act) and Senate Bill 1 (Heaven’s 27 Camp Safety Act), including protocols for emergency planning, communication systems, weather alert monitoring, and staff training. We are fully engaged in assessing all the requirements in these laws and are committed to meeting the mandated deadlines. Importantly:

  • Our activities are led by staff who are trained in all aspects of Camp, including safety guidelines. Camp For All requires and completes background checks on all personnel.
  • Camp For All collaborates with more than 65 different nonprofit organizations. We provide the barrier-free Camp, professional staff, universal programming, and appropriate foods. The nonprofit Partners bring the campers, the medical staff, and the “in cabin” counselors. Our Partners must certify that they have completed background checks on their staff members.
  • Visitors are not able to walk around Camp unless they are accompanied by someone who has had a background check.
  • Camp For All is not located in a FEMA-designated floodplain, and therefore, the new restrictions on cabin placement do not apply to our facilities.

The Texas Department of State Health Services has created a direct email for any parent or guardian concerns: PHSCPS@dshs.texas.gov. We welcome this added layer of accountability and encourage families to use it if they ever have questions or concerns.
